Hace un par de semanas, escribi una entrada en la que mencionaba la pelicula "You've got mail", con Meg Ryan y Tom Hanks.

Ahorita mientras almorzaba la estaban dando y, of course, no me pude resistir a verla de nuevo. Los ultimos 8 minutos de esa pelicula son increibles.

La pelicula trata de que Meg Ryan y Tom Hanks se corresponden por email, sin saber que el personaje de Tom Hanks (Joe Fox) llevo a la bancarrota al personaje de Meg Ryan (Kathleen), por lo que ella lo odia. El se da cuenta que su online love es ella una vez que quedan de juntarse y el la ve en el lugar con el libro y la rosa (cliche, I know). Entonces, el no se presenta como su online guy sino que va como Joe Fox a molestarla.

Anyways, como el se da cuenta que ella es el amor de su vida (antes de verla el le dice a alguien: "Kevin, this is possibly the most adorable creature I've ever been in contact with, and if she turns out to be as good looking as a mailbox... I would be crazy enough to turn my life upside down and marry her."), el trata de caerle bien antes de que sus cyber alter-egos [Shopgirl y NY152] fijen otra fecha para reunirse.

Joe Fox le dice a Kathleen que se junten a almorzar un sabado al mediodia y luego "NY152" le manda un email pidiendole que se reunan ese sabado a las 4pm. [Esto es un breve resumen; el hizo todo un aparataje para que las cosas salieran bien.]

Despues que Joe Fox y Kathleen almuerzan, ellos sostienen este dialogo:

Joe Fox: Sometimes I wonder...
Kathleen Kelly: What?
Joe Fox: If I hadn't been FoxBooks and you hadn't been the Shop Around the Corner... and you and I had, just you know, met... Yeah. I would have asked for your phone number and I wouldn't have been able to wait 24 hours before calling and asking, "How about coffee, drinks, dinner, a movie, for as long as we both shall live?"
Kathleen Kelly: Joe.
Joe Fox: And you and I would have never been at war. And the only things we would've fought about would be what video to rent on Saturday night.
Kathleen Kelly: Well, who fights about that?
Joe Fox: Well, some people. Not us.
Kathleen Kelly: We would never.
Joe Fox: ...if only.
Kathleen Kelly: I should go.
Joe Fox: Well let me ask you something. How can you forgive this guy for standing you up and not forgive me for this tiny little thing of... putting you out of business.
Joe Fox: Oh, how I wish you would.

[Pausa para buscar servilletas.]

Ok.

Na... cuando se reunen, ella esta en shock de que sea el, pero tambien super feliz y le dice: "I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly."

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

I love this movie.

Algo de trivia es que la cancion del final de esta pelicula es tambien la cancion del final de mi Absolute Favorite Romantic Comedy, "50 First Dates": "Over the Rainbow", escrita por Harold Arlen y E.Y. Harburg. En "You've got mail" la canta Harry Nilsson y en "50 first dates", Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

Otro dia hablaremos de "50 first dates". Primero, tengo muchisima tarea y segundo... no se si ya lo hemos hablado... jejeje.
